Unmasking the Real You

To be God’s child, we have to be real. There’s no faking our way into heaven. Thankfully, with God there’s no need to be fake—His grace sets us free to be ourselves.

To be God’s child, we’ve got to be real. There’s no faking our way into heaven. No hitchhiking or smuggling ourselves in either. We can’t fool God.
The good thing is: the Father already knows us exactly as we are. He knows how we think and act. While it might be somewhat embarrassing at times, God’s complete knowledge actually gives us freedom to come to terms with everything in our lives: the good, bad, and unspeakable.
Taken from Brennan Manning’s best-seller, Abba’s Child, this book helps us see how God’s grace sets us free—free to be who we really are. No more games, no acts, no masks. Just ourselves, as we really are in Him.

Everyone wants to be heard. But can we be heard by God? It’s weird to think about, but it’s true—God hears us and wants to hear from us. Do you ever feel a little stumped about prayer—like you keep saying the same things over and over again? Maybe you don’t know how to get started.
Author Tony Jones will help you do just that—get started. By digging into some prayers of the Bible and the early church, you’ll see how powerful prayer can be.

Brutally ditched by her best friend, Kara feels totally abandoned until she makes a life-changing discovery about herself—something she never even knew was there.

Best friends forever? Yeah, right.

Kara Hendricks and Jordan Ferguson have been best friends since kindergarten. By now—sophomore year—they’re more like sisters, really. Jordan has always been the leader in the friendship, but still she’s the perfect friend. That is, until she starts to hang with a new, “cool” crowd and decides Kara is a popularity liability.

Devastated, Kara feels betrayed and abandoned by everyone-even God. How could Jordan do this? Why did God let this happen? Yet for all the hurt and insecurity, these dark blue days contain a life-changing secret. Now that Jordan is gone, Kara has the chance to discover something about herself that she never knew before. But first she must learn to trust again. It won’t be easy.
